People in low lying areas of south Trinidad woke up overnight to pounding rainfall that led to flash floods after several rivers overflowed within hours of the deluge.
At Monkey Town, Lower Barrackpore, Barrackpore, this excavator left on a riverbank was submerged.
Several roads across the community were flooded.

The Meteorological Service had forecast partly cloudy/cloudy with periods of showers overnight, with a 60 per cent chance of thunderstorm activity over few areas.
Today there is a medium chance of isolated thunderstorm activity. Night-time will be generally settled apart from a few lingering showers.
Street/flash flooding and gusty winds are possible in the event of heavy downpours. Landslides are also possible, especially in northeastern areas of Tobago and northern areas of Trinidad, as a result of already saturated soils.
